QuestionI stumbled across these two products:
Shirataki noodles (http://www.konjacfoods.com/noodles/index.htm)
Fiber Gourmet pasta
http://www.fibergourmet.com
The first pasta claims to have 0 calories! The second pasta claims to be only 120-130 calories per 2 oz serving due to the fact of all the fiber. Do you think the calorie content on both of these pastas are REALLY correct? Please let me know your thoughts on this. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you!
Kim
AnswerHi Kim,
I checked both links out. The first one just comes off "fishy" and "scam" to me. But, really it's not going to be anything magical. Calories aren't bad for us, neither is any type of whole wheat or vegetable based pasta. In moderation they can be part of any sound nutritional program. Just be sure not to opt for the white processed kinds of pasta.
The second link looks more promising to me than the first, as it does provide quite a bit of fiber and some calories.
Either types you listed should be fine though and I don't see a problem with including them in an overall sound nutritional program. Just don't look for them to be a magic solution to weightloss.
Sorry I can't provide more in dept detail but from the links it's hard to see the full list of ingredients as well as the full nutritional breakdown of the pastas.
