QuestionHi Susan,
I'm a Personal Trainer and have been for the past 5 years or so. I deal with lots of overweight women who want to lose bodyfat. I think I know a fair bit about how it all works. But I don't think I have the magic formula sussed out yet. I know you need to firstly detox and have a clean environment then all the food stuff and water and what not. But is there anything you could add that in your experience has made fat loss easier and faster...
Thnks

AnswerHI Rob,
To lose body fat and keep it off I start with the rocks in heads. Counting calories is the most counter productive "fact" around. People eat empty food, keep on eating, then start a diet. A drop in food intake LOWERS METABOLISM. They lose 3% of their body weight in water alone, get high on the loss, but then they stop losing or gain a pound. Bummer! They eat less and work out more, thinking that calories in/calories out rate is written in stone. Metabolism goes down farther, they get depressed, which lowers it some more. They snap and go to the ice cream place and feel better for 7 minutes. Maybe before that they talk to their RD - stands for Registered Dinosaur - and get told that they must have added things up wrong. So they now have the self image of fat and dumb. Have we not spent a few decades of dieting and getting heavier to prove that "all things in moderation" is a crock?
Nobody, NO Body is too fat from eating too much fresh produce and pure whole grains and a LITTLE protein.
Focus on the quality of input and the quantity takes care of itself.
Do not go on some temporary "diet", just start doing it right, right now, from now on. (No going off diet and falling back to old habits)
2 Things I really hate:
diet sodas: they stimulate appetites
fasting: so stressful it causes the release of way more toxins than it could possible release
