Questionhi crystal! how are you? i was wondering if there is a book out there that you could recommend that features a healthy approach to eating paired with exercise. also, how do you feel about programs such as Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Medifast, etc? Thanks!
AnswerHi Vanessa,
I'm doing great, thanks for asking!
As far as commercially available books go, I would say "Body For Life" by Bill Phillips is probably one of the best you'll ever read. It is as close to a bodybuilding & fitness lifestyle as you can get, and I recommend it to all my patients with diabetes and heart disease, since the types of foods they recommend are exactly what I would prescribe for my patients!
If you want to do the online thing, www.oxygenmag.com is an awesome website dedicated to female fitness, from beginner to advanced. I use it a lot for myself as well as my patients.
Weight Watchers is probably the most practical of all those diet programs, as it promotes eating a balanced diet in moderation, as well as exercise. It is based in reality and is not harmful to your health, as long as you are in good health yourself!
Good luck!
