QuestionHi Nevil! how are you? I have a goal to lose 15 lbs by the end of January. I am 31 yrs old, female, 5'3", currently weighing 152 lbs. Is this realistic? What type of diet and fitness program should I be on? I have a really good gym inside my apartment building that has a rower, stair climber, elliptical, treadmill- plus free weights and other weight machines. Also, is there a particular book you could recommend that has a diet/exercise program with a journal? Thanks in advance! I appreciate your insight!
AnswerHi Vanessa,
You seem to have all the foundations ready!
Now we need to compliment your enthusiasm for exercise with the correct diet ( by diet I mean nutritional programme.)
15lbs in 8+ weeks? Should be very achievable but my question is: do you actually need to lose that amount of BODYWEIGHT? How can you tell you are not losing muscle instead of fat?
The correct way to monitor great body shape and health is via bodyfat percentage. You can get a free readout from my site below.
The nutritional programme should compliment the timings of your exercise routine.
I use www.workoutpass.com as it is such a comprehensive exercise site. It's my recommendation!
As for a diet journal I can send you one via email if you want to reply via a private message.
The nutrition I supply and my support services are all designed around a book called 'The LA Shape Diet' by Dr David Heber. He has been acknowledged as the leading expert in the field of weightloss and obesity.
Hope this gets you off to a great start and if you want me to work with you just drop me a line:)
All the best
