Hi there! I am 20 and my fiance is 22. We will be getting married on February 9th which is exactly 73 days away. Time until our wedding is getting shorter and shorter and we want to, BUT I NEED TO lose weight before that day!!! I bought and received Turbo Jam Workout Plan yesterday so that what we're going for workouts. We have been looking up a lot of healthy eating plans and they are all SO TIME CONSUMING, with WEIRD foods I've never heard of. We need a very simple but very healthy eating plan. We arent looking to diet, we're looking to eat healthy and change our lifestyle. Please help!!

Hi Andrea,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Exercise is great, make sure you include some type of weight exercise as well, even light weights are good. Build lean mass (muscle), light weight for high reps means toned muscle, not huge.

As simple as I can put it...

Avoid sugary foods. NO soft drinks (even diet brands), alcohol to a minimum, no bagels, white bread, pretzels, muffins, donuts, ice cream, candy etc, etc... Avoid high fructose corn syrup which includes all of those 'tea' beverages out there. No hydrogenated oils (read the labels).

Eat lots of vegetables- raw and cooked every day. Eat some fruit. Lean protein choices such as fish or poultry and lay-off the red meat. Healthy grains such as brown rice, oatmeal and 100% whole wheat, rye and pumpernickel. Use fat free dairy and try dairy alternatives such as soy, rice, or almond milk (and such products). Aim to get your plate full of veggies for lunch and dinner- 50-75%, the rest either a protein or healthy carb.

Eat healthy fat- walnuts, almonds, salmon, Smart Balance spread, NO margarine, less butter. Use olive oil and coconut oil. Have a few avocados each week.

Finally- buy a vegetarian cookbook and learn how to cook veggies and like them.
