65 pounds by then i weigh 204 and i am 5'4 how can i do it. also i don't
understand why i gain so weight i barely eat i know on a average day i
only about 1000 calories a day.
AnswerDear Tasha, If you are eating only 1000 calories per day, you have a slow metabolism. Reasons your metabolism might be slow is you might have a thyroid condition or your body, sensing low calorie consumption or starvation, has slowed your metabolism as a survival mechanism. See your doctor for a blood test to check your thyroid hormone levels, if they are normal, then you can proceed to eating healthy and exercising to lose weight. To lose weight with diet and exercise, you have to eat at least 1500-1800 calories per day, and exercise at least 30 minutes per day. Daily fast walking is OK. The more exercise you do, the more weight you will lose. Your goal of losing 65 pounds in less than 7 months is unreasonable. At best you will probably lose 50-60, still a great achievement. The hardest part is getting the first 20 pounds off, after that, you should know what to do so just continue it till you reach your goal. Find a eating plan that you can live with, one that contains about 1500-1800 calories per day, then stick with it. There are so many diet programs out there, most websites will give you free menus, or just go to the library. Atkins is a great program to try, but sticking with it can be hard if you like your carbs. Weight watchers uses foods from all food groups, you just keep track using their point system. If you want to do it on your own, get a book on calories, download a calorie counter, or just read every food label, and keep track yourself. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
