digestive enzymes

Question
I heard that americans do not have or get enough digestive enzymes because so much of our food is processed.  If true, what supplement would you suggest?

Answer
Hello Leighton!

Thank you for your nutrition question. Since most of the foods we eat are cooked or processed in some way and since the raw foods we do eat contain only enough enzymes to process that partic璾lar food, our bodies must pro璬uce the majority of the diges璽ive enzymes we require, un璴ess we use supplemental enzymes.   When we eat foods which are not alive / raw, it抯 enzymes are no longer active. Digestive Enzymes must then be made by our organs and secreted along the diges璽ive tract to break food down into nutrients and waste.

Unfortunately, since our bodies are literally not built to make the majority of the enzymes we need, after 30 years or so of constantly over-working the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and other organs by eating mostly cooked foods, these organs begin to fail:  they are simply tapped out.  That抯 when trouble becomes noticeable:  that抯 when we start to experience symptoms, from mild indigestion all the way to cancer in these over-taxed organs.
There is a product available at my website www.juiceblend.com where you can purchase a supplement that is made from sever raw fruits and vegetables.  It would be the perfect and easy way to get more enzymes into your body!
Let me know if you have more questions.
