Question How can anyone know for sure what is healthy to eat? aspartame or white sugar? one can make themselves mentally sick reading labels all the time and then going to the library or internet to study the ingredients listed and all the debates for and against the ingredient. when someone preaches about the dangers of one product chances are they sell another product. what's the use in trying if it requires more than a reasonable amount of effort to learn what is healthy and even then you can't really KNOW that you KNOW. sure you can eat fruits and vegetables but that gets OLD EVENTUALLY. and even then you don't know if it has been geneticly modified ( and no i do not choose to knowingly accept gm foods)plus you have to wash veggies with soap and water. which i think the producers or grocer should do. THANK YOU
AnswerHi Ray,
I share in your frustration. There is conflicting information abound. When in doubt I like to take a very simplistic approach. When eating food, opt for foods that come from the earth naturally. If you don't know how it got to your or the grocery store, it's probably not the best for us.
For example, if you look at an apple, it's easy to know that it came from an apple tree. However, something like an oreo, who the heck knows what all is in it.
As for as what's the point in trying. While it can be overwhelming, if we take the simplistic approach above, it won't seem so daunting. While some foods can get boring at times, it's ultimately our health we're talking about and also your personal preference as to how far you want to take it.
Eating healthy should be a top priority for all of us, but as far as eating the not so good stuff, well you just have to find that fine line that fits your lifestyle and desires on how good you want to look and feel.
hope that helps some.
