Not Eating Enough?!?

Question
Hi there!

I am a 19 year old college male.  I'm 5'9", 135 lbs.  Pretty slender for a guy my age.  Almost all skin and bone.  The big issue, I think, is genetics.  But I also don't seem to eat much.  I'm a very, very small eater and I get full rather fast.  I've tried eating more, but I only feel sick to my stomach.  My diet is usually decently healthy compared to others (although I could eat more fruits and veggies - but that problem is tied to the fact that I don't eat much at all).  It's a struggle for me to eat 2000 calories in a day.  I'm not anorexic or anything, because I like my body how it is, but I do often worry about the fact about my food consumption versus energy output...  It's not really healthy to be as skinny and under-developed as I am.  It has been a concern since I was 16; my food intake got larger, as it should during that growing stage, but I was still eating far less than was would be expected.  I'm not eating what is suggested that I should.  Do I perhaps have some kind of disease or disorder that suppresses my appetite?  Is there any way to train my body to eat more?

A Very Concerned, Frustrated Guy

Answer
Hi Nick,

Relax. Look into yoga, meditation. You are still growing, you will catch up to yourself. Focus on quality of what you eat, raw fruit, slightly cooked fresh vegetables, whole grains, avoid refined flour and refined sugar.

Basically, EVERYONE thinks they have a body with a problem, by far, most people eat too much. I am not making light of this, and I blame the bad choices we are surrounded with. Especially college students!

Think healthy, energize what you want, more pro active. There is a difference between positive and wishful thinking.
