QuestionIm 15, im 5'10", 156lbs, and approximately 30% body fat. March break begins tomorro for me and i would like to use it to help me get a start on my weight loss goals. I currently do not get much exercise but my family did recently purchase a treadmill so i am able to use that. I currently consume around 2500 calories a day. I do have plans to alter my diet. Around how many calories do u recommend i start taking in perday. Also, what kind of exercises should i do in order to assist my weight loss. I have a couple 5lb dumbells, an exercise ball, and a treadmill, but thats it. Im hoping to lose around 5lbs to start during this break...is that reasonable.
AnswerHi Melissa, To lose about two pounds per week, try to eat around 1700-1800 calories per day and walk the treadmill for at least 30 minutes per day.
If you can increase the treadmill time to twice a day, and add the weight lifting at least three times per week, your metabolism should stay high and you should lose fat more easily. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
