Fat burning vs index

Question
What's the difference between just fat burning and fat burning index?

Answer
Hi Debbie,

Fat burning is a simpler term for lipolysis or lipid oxidation when the lipids or fats lipids are being broken down into fatty acids to be used for energy.

The fat burning index is a term used to explain how the Banta diet work. It's a simplified version of the clinical term "ketogenic ratio" for description of the ratio "carbohydrates plus protein to fats" in a food or meal. The higher the fat burning index, the higher the chance that a particular food or meal will shift metabolic balance from runing on carbs for fuel to running of fats including the body fat.
