Net carbohydrates in brown vs white rice

Question
When I was reading the label comparing brown rice to white rice, they both have the EXACT same number of carbohydrate, I thought brown rice was supposed to have less number of carbohydrates.

p.s. The ingredients on those products were the exact same too.

Answer
Billy,

To me, the ingredients don't look exact the same. The 'net carbohydrate' counts (total grams minus fiber grams) in one cup of raw grains are:

Brown rice - 136,5
White rice - 152,4

However, since other ingredient counts are more different, the effects of these two rice varieties on digestion and metabolism is very different, too:

The Fat Burning Index is two-fold different:

Brown rice - 0,080
White rice - 0,043

Glycemic Index

Brown rice - 55
White rice - 70

The bottom line is, white rice is twice more likely to turn into body fat and 1,4 times more likely to cause blood sugar rise than brown rice!
