QuestionOk, this is a WEIRD question. Hopefully you can answer this... I was in a weight loss forum and someone mentioned they lost a good amount of weight by having 10 steamed garlic cloves with a big cup of water each morning and then eating an hour after this...? (Imagine your breath after 10 garlic cloves!!!) Wondering if there was any truth to this. Thanks!
AnswerWeight loss is a simple function of CALORIES IN being less than CALORIES OUT. Now, some stimulants like caffeine will increase your metabolism by jacking up your resting heart rate, but the effects of this are MILD at best. Your best bet is to BURN more calories through exercise.
No, I've never heard of any truth behind garlic being used for weight loss... however I have read that garlic is a natural anti-bacterial. I used to take garlic pills in the morning, every day, to prevent getting colds. I did this for about a year... but then I got a nasty flu and stopped doing it.
