QuestionHello, I am 5"3 female, weigh 174 pounds. I weighed 110 pounds 3 years ago and even then was considered overweight. I want to know if it's possible for me to down to 90 pounds. I've been on the atkins diet for 2 weeks and have lost 12 pounds on it so far. No one among my family or friensd believes it's possible for me to lose all the weight that I've gained.
AnswerFirst of all, I am sorry it has taken me so long to answer your question. Second, yes it is totally possible for you to lose the weight you gained. 110 pounds at your height is not overweight. The ideal body weight range for your height is 115 plus or minus 10%. So, about 103.5-126.5 lbs. I wouldn't recommend you go down to 90 lbs. That would be something to discuss with your healthcare provider.
I'm not a big fan of the Atkins diet because it is hard for people to stick with it. If you really want to do a "low carb" diet, then South Beach diet would be my preference.
Congratulations on losing 12 lbs! That is awesome and tells me you are motivated and off to a very good start. If you could find someone to support you in your efforts, you will be more likely to succeed. I offer counseling (unlimited contact) at a very reasonable rate. You can check out my website. If you reach a plateau, then I'd recommend Bios Life Slim (see my website). At any rate, it is possible for you to lose weight, you are proving it already. Keep limiting what you eat and keep exercising (or start if you aren't already). Reward yourself and try to protect yourself from people that are negative about your weight loss. Everyone should be happy and proud that you are doing what you are doing! Let me know if you having any more questions.
