QuestionHi Susan
First I'd like to say that your post sounded so amazing and that I fully agree with you about how we eat things that only humans can mistake as food!
I tend to binge eat a lot and I find it incredibly hard to break the cycle. I often just feel tired and crap because of that and even desperately want to miss work because I am so ridiculously bloated. My problem is years of this habit make it hard for me to start eating normal meals and stop stuffing my face all the time. Are there ways to control my craving? One person once told me to eliminate sugar completely for 2 weeks and have all the salt I like and he said after that I just won't crave sugary snacks (my weakness).
I have gone through phases where my cravings are very controlled and I'm eating well for a few days but suddenly I'd decide to binge not because I have this craving but more so that I remember how 'enjoyable' it used to be and I try to get that 'high' again.
How do I kickstart the way to healthy moderate eating?
Sorry my post is so long.
Also, is chilli good for you? Some say it kicks start your metabolism, is that true? Is soy milk/yougurt/cheese/ice cream good for you? Or is it more bad than good because of all the addictives added.
Thanks a lot. I hope you can help.
Alicia
AnswerHI Alicia,
Refined sugar is more addictive than cocaine, tobacco. It is linked to brain loss, bone loss, athlete's foot, yeast infections..... depression...
Get it out of your life, period. Eat raw fresh fruit, dried fruit with no additives, dates with no additives. Eat as much fresh fruit as you want.
Stevia is a sweetener with out known bad effects.
Enjoy some healthy chilli once in a while, but it is not the cure.
If you can find some soy ice cream without bad sweeteners, have some.
Maybe make your own fruit smoothies. Get a blender, some stevia, some fruit and real - not pasteurized fruit juice and have at it.
You could dance around for a few minutes when you crave a cupcake or some such poison.
Get downright religious about no sugar for one month and strong cravings will be gone, and you will be hooked on feeling good and causes that!
