Ketchup: healthy or not?

Question
I've been trying to eat a lot more vegetables than I usually do, but the only way I can do that is by using lots of ketchup to dip them in because otherwise they don't taste as good. Is that still healthy? I once read somewhere that ketchup was actually really bad for you.

Oh, and I already like fruit. I have a sweet tooth.

Answer
Ketchup isn't bad for you unless you are having heartburn, or should limit salt or sugar in your diet.

There are variations in nutrient composition depending on ketchup (also spelled catsup or catchup) brand but it remains mostly high-carbohydrate, low fat product, even if less sugar is added. Standard ketchup consists of.

Tomato sauce
vinegar
sugar
salt
onion flavor
garlic flavor
spices: cayenne, cloves, mace, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, or cinnamon .

The benefits of ketchup
