QuestionHi, I am a 17 year old soccer player? I am 5ft 11in tall and weight about 140 lbs. I would like to know what type of foods I should be eating as a soccer player and what not to eat? It would be helpful if I got a list of meals for breakfast lunch dinner and snacks. Also, what should I eat/drink before and after a game? Thank you

I am sorry I cannot take the time to give you a personalized diet thats takes a huge chunk of time and work to make an individualized plan for someone.
I will tell you. Likely you are going to need to learn to eat to perform. Being in soccer your going to be burning a large amount of calories so eating for you is NOT like eating for the average person. You are an athlete and should eat as such, A bit higher carbohydrates, more calories is going to be good, easy quick fuel. Grains, breads cereals and such even what some consider junk food. I would try and get plenty of fruit and veggies but the main thing is going to be keeping your intake up to keep the weight and energy on. Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches, milk, bread, get your protein in id suggest 1 gram per lb a day for any one training. Good fats.
Base your diet on real foods and then fill in the calorie gaps with with What ever you need to be in chocolate, pop tarts etc. Your worry is performance.
I will urge you to also check out our website, with articles and such from some of the tops in the fields of athletics, including myself
