QuestionHello Mr. Stevens,
I have three girls that compete in gymnastics and I am looking for some diet tips. They all work out about 12-15 hours a week and compete 4-6 times a year. What I am looking for is a work out day plan, a competition day plan and a post competition day plan. If you can give any suggestions I would appreciate it.
Thank you
John
AnswerJohn-
Congrats on having three physically healthy girls and the desire to se them compete right. I cant give you a persona plan as that is to extensive and lengthy to do for free of charge. For something like that I would point you to Dr, Lonnie Lowery for a full nutritional consultation www.staleytraining.com
I will say just LOTS of good food, base all feeding on a complete protein source meat, diary, fish etc., Lots of fruits and veggies, for workouts you may need some very dense crab snacks and something that sits easy and well, Vitargo S2 seems pretty good, simple dark chocolate bars, granola bars, banana, a protein shake dillute,
The are going to have High metabolisms and be grazers likely and need to be eating many gymnast girls tend to under eat causing lack of performance and worse health problems. Have food they can have all day and liquid dilute with carb and protein,
Last thing get plenty of healthy fats in there diet, some from the meats they are of course but Omega 3's in supplement can really aid joint and tendon health and other bodily functions
Hope That helps,
Phil
