QuestionHello!
Are there certain fruits or nuts or vegetables you should NOT eat or drink? I read that coconut and coconut water is one to avoid. And our local Weight Watchers says that olive oil is a bad idea, also. With animal food some are easy to figure-out, such as eating lard. Really bad. But I am not certain about which fruits, nuts, or vegetables to avoid.
Thanks for the time.
AnswerDave, I think that all fruits, nuts and vegetables are okay except that some you probably shouldn't eat in excess (just like any food). Coconut oil has saturated fat which can raise your cholesterol levels, so that is one to limit. Olive oil is one that I use everyday and recommend to my clients. It has a higher percentage of monounsaturated fat which is heart healthy. (what sources is WW using to back up their statements that olive oil is bad?) I like to focus on foods that are good to eat. Pears and apples have a lot of fiber, berries are full of antioxidants, etc. For weight loss, at the end of the day it is all about how many calories you have consumed vs. expended. Hope this helps.
