Questionhi there! i eat quite alot of fruits everyday because i reach for an apple everytime i feel hungry. i usually eat 2 green apples, 2 red apples and 2 oranges everyday, and sometimes even more if i'm hungry that day. i wash the apples thoroughly before eating them.
so anyway, is there any potential health risk from eating too many fruits? like diabetes from all that sugar? and will i become fat from eating too many fruits (i've heard that fruits have negative calories so i actually burn more calories when eating them)?
Answer You're fine - keep eating your fruit
However, there ARE calories in them and no, they are not 'negative'. That is a ridiculous wave of net-nonsense that makes the rounds every year around this time.
What that applies to is a very few foods that take more energy (calories) to eat them, than they contain. For example: Lettuce and celery. That's about it.
Believe me, the sites and the people who are trying to put spin on 99.9% of the "diets" out there haven't spent a single day in a real medical college learning anything about nutrition.

Fruits are high in sugar, but won't cause diabetes. Being overweight can lead to Type II Diabetes; heredity can be behind Type I Diabetes.
Fruits are excellent sources of necessary vitamins and fiber, so they aren't "empty" calories like eating just plain sugar or sweets would be (no nutritional values to them). They are also high in water content so they help with overall hydration and helping feel fuller, so eating less of the wrong things.
Whole grains, legumes/vegetables are also necessary though, as is protein. If your diet isn't balanced - it's just not going to work.
