QuestionHi,
I'm 15, 5 ft 7 in, and I weigh about 177 pounds.
People tell me I'm proportional because of my height, but I still have fat that you can see obviously (and some that's not so obvious). I want to lose weight by June, which is the beginning of Summer Break, preferably to where I feel confident about myself. I have cut out sodas, I've tried to cut my portions, and I try to stop snacking as much and as unhealthy. I need help. I have no clue exactly what foods are good, which foods a teen body needs, and I know nothing about nutritional value. I not only want to lose weight to be prettier, I want to be Healthy. Please give me advice and tips to help. Foods I need to eat, certain things that balance out others, etc.
Thank you,
Cheyenne
AnswerDear Cheyenne. Foods to eat are the foods from the healthy food triangle. Fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, chicken, whole grain bread, low fat dairy, and healthy fats like those in salad oils and nuts are the foods to eat. Eat these types of food everyday and count the calories contained in the food you eat. Try to stay around the 1500 calories per day mark and walk daily for at least 30 minutes. You can lose about 40 pounds or more by following this plan. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
