QuestionI a 43 year old mail and I recently joined overeaters anonymous. My top weight was 250 and weigh 232 today. I am 5' 6" tall and have a desired goal weight of 150 pounds. What amount of calories do I need to intake over 1 year to lose 82 pounds. I am moderately active. I walk 3 or 4 times per week. I am also a type 2 diabetic and my sugar has been in a much healthier range over the past 3 weeks since letting go of sugar and white flour. Please give me some suggestions. Thank you, Chip K.
AnswerChip,
I am sorry for the delay in answering your questions. Well, generally we tell people if you want to lose 1 lb. per week you need to reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories/day. However, with type 2 diabetes, most people have insulin resistance which makes losing weight difficult because as your insulin levels are high your body is not able to burn free fatty acids (fat). This explains how that works, I think you'll find it enlightening.
