QuestionQUESTION: Hi!
I am trying to lose a bit of weight. I'm 32,73kg and 1.75cm
I go for a jog 3 or 4 times a week for about 45 minutes.
I would like to know if skipping the meal after my work out (most of the time dinner) and taking a Whey Protein Isolate drink with skim milk will help to lose some weight.
I'm not after getting more muscle.
Also how much should I take?
Thanks for your time!
Rosa
ANSWER: Rosa-
Yes it very well could if its less calories then you usual meal. One scoop is generally about the calorie content (100-120) and protein content (25g) of a small chicken breast. I would be very aware of how HUNGRY you will be in a short amount of time after that shake however. Whey is digested VERY easily and isnt going to keep you full long at all. I would add along with that some green veggies and possible fruit maybe a few nuts. This will give you a LOT of bulk, fiber, minerals and vitamins with very little caloric impact.
Its more about having a good total diet then trying to fix it all with one meal.

QUESTION: Thankyou for your reply Phil!
What would you recommend as a replacement drink?
By the time I get back from my run in the evening is 7.30-8pm and I don't really want to eat a meal at that time.
Fruit only don't work, I feel really hungry quickly.
Thanks again!
R
AnswerI would go with soemthing like I said above a simple whey and a piece of fruit and nuts. Or something as simple as a lean meat and veggies, or cottage cheese and veggies or fruit (cottage cheese is primarily casein protein from milk which is very slowly digested and will stay with you longer.)
