Questionhi,
i m trying to lose weight so closely watching my calorie intake. As i have learned that a good percnetage of our calorie intake in food should come from protein like 30% then 50% from carb and 20% from fat I want to roughly calculate it when i prepare any dish.So , lets say i had a breakfast and summing up all the calories total calories are 400 and the protien amt was 27.6g,carb amt was 31.3 gm and fat amt was 7 g now how will i figure out that what's the percnetage of each protein, carb and fat in food ..please help
thanks
AnswerHi Shipra,
There are many opinions about
the proportion of our daily intake.
In the food labels, the USDA
recommended 60 % carbs,
30% fat (only10% saturated fat),
& 10% protein.
However, I find this method of
eating is too hard. For example
most lean meat consist of 25% fat,
egg consist of 56% fat, so it is
truly very hard to calculate the
exact percentage of protein, carb
and fat in our food.
An easier way is to follow the
food pyramid which for most people is
6 oz of grains, 2.5 cups of vegetables,
2 cups of fruits, 3 cups of milk and
5.5 oz of meat & beans.
And the easiest method is to
follow my Asian Slim Secrets method!
No counting, balancing our
food intake is easy with a few
simple guidelines.
