QuestionI have a very fast metabolism. I was tested at Jenny Craig with the breath analyzer, and my "benchmark" calorie burn was around 2670 calories a day at no caffeine, exercise etc. So with caffeine, exercise, or physical work, I'm even higher.
I work out 3 to 4 days a week, but I seem to hang on to belly fat etc. When I eat more than I want, I seem to gain fat. If I don't eat enough my body stores fat. It seems like I'm getting it in both directions, and I can't find any literature that addresses this situation. Everyone else "wants" a fast metabolism!
Any suggestions? Brian
AnswerWell knowing what your Basal Metabolic Rate is is great, do you know how many calories you eat in a day? Keep a food journal for 4 or 5 days then input it into a calorie counting program like the one at NutritionData.com; then you will know if you are in balance with your metabolism or not.
As far as exercise goes, I don't know enough about you to really comment- you can follow up with more info if you like height, weight, age, what your current routine is now and I can give a little more advice.
