Question
Hey Richard. I have a couple of questions for you. I am 6'0 and 221 pounds. I would like to lose 20 pounds of body fat in 2 months. Do you think that is a realistic goal? I am taking in no more than 1,500 calories a day, do light exercise every day, and a couple hours or intense martial arts on Sundays.
Also, I do pushups and sit ups on a daily basis. Once I lose the excess body fat, do you think pushups and sit ups will be enough to give me a defined upper body? Thanks.

Answer
1 or 2 pounds a week is a realistic safe weight-loss goal.

Pushups are good for your chest. Situps are OK but aren't any better than basic crunches for your abs.

Add some weight training to your routine - barbell curls, shoulder presses, etc.
