QuestionHello, I was just wondering as I cannot find a straight answer on the internet. Would you know how many calories a calzone with: aubergines, Red peppers, olives, goats cheese, rocket, pine nuts, tomatos and mozzarella would have? even if it is just roughly? Thanks.
AnswerI would say, roughly, anywhere from 500 to 1500 calories!
The problem is there are too many varieties of sizes. Some are large for one person and some easily serve 4 people!
For every piece that is the size of a slice of bread (count the crust on each side!) and depending on how thickly the cheeses are laid on it, I would estimate about 300-400 calories (as if you were eating a cheese sandwich). That would be about 4 by 4 inches.
So if your calzone is, say 6 by 8 inches it might be 900-1200 calories. IF there are a lot of olives this will add more calories, as well, but there are usually just slivers of olives contained.
I hope this helps a little--it's definitely a high calorie meal in any case!
