QuestionI am 171cm tall and weigh 62 kilogram.I have been exercising(walking for 70 min/jogging for 40 min 4 times a week) and lifting 5 lb weights(3 times a week) for the past 4 months.I had been losing weight through exercise and when my weight loss was stagnant,I reduced my calorie intake to 1400 cal/day.I lost weight for 3 weeks and now even though I burn more that 6000 cal/week,I dont find my weight reducing.I cant change my work out bcoz I dont have money to go for swimming, gym, etc and thats why I resort to walking/jogiing.Do tell me what should I do.Thank You
AnswerHi Ross,
Let's get straight to it...you need to lift much heavier weights. 5lbs will do nothing for you.
As you lift more, so your muscles grow, and energy rises. This means your metabolism increases and you can burn more fat. You'll need to keep increasing the weights as your body gets used to each stage.
As for the running, a 40min jog is just about good enough to give your lungs and heart a low level work out.
If you want to burn fat and exercise your inner body, then do sprints or interval training.
Obviously, none of this will work unless you have a proper nutrition programme. And that means ditching the idea that you reduce calories as this leads to what you now experience.
Eat plenty of lean protein from fish, poultry, eggs and meat, or soya. As long as you have a variety of mixed veg each day and 8-10 glasses of water, this is a solid nutritional start. Make sure the way you cook does not involve frying or coating the food in sauces.
There you go! And if you want a packed nutrition programme that probably costs less than buying and cooking the food, hop on over to my site.
All the best.
