QuestionHi, It's me again, sorry I keep writing you, I just find you to be the best one in this subject on here =). Well, as you can probably see I am constantly switching my diet. I wanted to lose like 15 pounds in a month, as in by like, July 20th. So, for like 6 days I ate only 600 calories of healthy food. And I started doing more exercise. I found a routine online. I do leg lunges first, I do 4 different types, 3 sets of each, 1 set being 15 on each leg. Also an ab work-out video, it's only two minutes, but supposed to be an intense one for if you are short on time. However since it is only 2 minutes I do it 3 times as well. I have been doing this everyday for 6 days in a row. The leg lunges make my legs sore and the ab work outs are very hard for me to do, so I'm guessing there are good exercises for me. And I do a very small amount of interval training, the total time I get at actually running at 5mph is 25-30 minutes a week, so not much. I have been doing pretty good on making most of my foods healthy. I really really wanted to lose 15 pounds in a month, my health teacher said its possible and might not be to hard if all you have is body fat, which is all I have, I have no muscle. However I don't think I'll reach this goal=(. Everything I read says that eating to low will slow your metabolism, which is also what you have told me. So I don't know what to do, I don't see how eating more could make you lose weight better. But, as I said before, for like 6 days I only ate 600, but then all of this week I hate like 1200-1300, and like 1600 today. I've still kept doing the exercises, I know i will stick to this, but I have so much trouble with my calories fluctuating. I went from having like 800-1000, to 600, now to 1300. Some days it's not hard at all to eat only 600, then some days i feel no matter how much I eat I'll never feel full. Is it possible with the exercise I'm doing, and with the right amount of calories to lose 15 pounds by middle July? Just for a reminder I'm 17, 5"6, about 160 pounds. Thanks for always responding to me =).
AnswerFirst off Louise 20 pounds in 6 weeks is VERY unlikely. And any Health teacher that told you that it was possible and a good idea should be working at McDonald's- Not a school.
Second you need to be eating around 1600 cal/day ( Which is what I told you last time I think)and you need to be active at least 30 minutes a day. Doing the same exercises every day isn't really good for you- do the leg workout 1 day- core and cardio the next- Straight cardio the third- Upper body strength the forth- Hard core intervals the fifth- yoga the 6th and then Cardio the seventh. If you can do more than a half hour great!
You won't get where you want to be by starving yourself and working out in tiny little bursts. Not eating won't work because it will lead to a binge, you will always be fighting against yourself.
I know you want it to work your way- but it hasn't so far- try it my way, give it the 6 weeks. If nothing else you won't be miserable from starving yourself !
