QuestionHello,
I am struggling a bit to stay on track and I am getting frustrated!! I am sure I am like most people in the world! I have been active all my life, fairly fit, but have a huge sweet tooth! I recently lost 10lbs, and am about 5lbs away from my ideal weight...however now that I have lost the 10lbs and am feeling good about myself, I am finding myself slipping...I say things like "well I worked out hard, so I can have that candy bar", or "one cheat meal is ok" (which turns into two, then three, then a whole day). I am wondering if you have stratagies for me to keep with it! I find the worst times are at night! I am great in the morning and afternoon, then right after supper I find myself reaching for the snacks! Thank you for your help!!!
:)
AnswerAmy,
First things first, recognize how hard you have worked to get this far! You didn't go 3/4 of the way just to fail now, right?
Second- Why are the snacks there? I'm not saying they have to go away forever- but if you are struggling right now, why bother with the temptation? If they absolutely have to be there, make a deal with yourself- You can have the snack- but you have to drink a 20 oz glass of water and wait 20 minutes before you do.
Nighttime snacking is usually caused by boredom, so go find something to do! A book, game, movie or puzzle can keep you occupied and not munching.
Hope this helps,
Lela Simon
