QuestionI am 66 and am very careful what I consume: veggies, fruits, fish (usually salmon),sardines (once a month) and a little lean meat 3x per month....no fatty foods, sugar, sodium, chicken. I also do not eat any simple carb food. Everything is whole wheat or whole grain.Do drink low fat soy milk, low fat yogurt (plain) or have a little bit with a small amount of whole grain cereal and a little bit of low fat soy ice cream. I read a nutrition newsletter each month and other health magazines and books. I just learned that phosphates of any kind can grow heart plaque.......do you agree and if so, I presume I should no longer eat any foods containing phosphates.
Thank you .......Bob
AnswerBob-
No I dont 100% agree and your nutrition looks good except he lack of fats they look pretty low. You need more oils, nuts, seeds and meats. These in an of them selves can really aid general health, soreness, joint health, cognitive health, and cardiac health. That and I would drop the soy milk as well, while not proven either way yet there is enough evidence out there for me to have all my clients avoid soy products as a staple and more so the men until more research is done. Use real milk products.
