QuestionHi phil, i had asked you a question a couple of days ago about gaining muscle. I'm only 17 and i have to buy my own food. i cant afford meat products for protein. I'll eat peanutbutter, peanuts, beans, peas, and i drink milk instead. it's not that i'm a vegetarian, i just cant afford to buy meat to get protein. i eat 8 times a day and i snack on peanuts between meals. i just started eating about 3800 calories a day now. i workout 3 times a week. my question is that can i get the proteins i need from peanutbutter sandwiches, beans, peas, and milk? I eat 5 peanutbutter sandwiches on 100% whole grain bread, 3 canned vegetables with 20 or more grams of protein, 2 glasses of milk, 1 banana, and i snack on peanuts. That's what i eat in 1 day. Do you think i could build muscle like this? i'll try to fit in meat as much as i can. thank you for your help.
AnswerChris-
I would up the dairy intake a LOT if you can. Milk meats eggs are complete proteins that are MUCH better and easily digested then those in plants which are incomplete. its possible yes but very hard and more so if your trying to gain muscle
