QuestionHi Phil. i have one easy question. I'm 17 years old and i am trying to gain muscle weight. I want to eat healthy foods to build muscle so that i dont gain any fat with my muscle. in my diet, i eat meats, fruits, vegetables, and whole grain breads. there's one thing i wanted to know that i might could eat. i love spaghetti. i dont really consider spaghetti to be an unhealthy food choice. it has carbs and protein to build muscle. Would it be ok to eat spaghetti every once in a while? Would it make me gain fat or help build muscle? I'm not talking about eating spaghetti all the time, just every now and then? thank you for your help.
AnswerChris-
Of course its OK. You MUST be in a calorie surplus to build muscle and many times that means eating dense foods. I would also urge you to realize that if you want to make any real progress you are going to have to accept some fat gain. Im not sating you have to get obese but to gain an appreciable amount of mass and strength naturally you will add some fat. Fat that can easily be taken off a few years from now when you have built he muscle you desire.
