Hi,
I'm trying to gain weight and build muscle through weight lifting. I'm joining a gym to develop my muscles.

A couple years ago a dermatologist prescribed some protein capsules for me, saying my hair was prematurely graying because I lacked protein.

I gave them up because they were expensive and at that time I wasn抰 concerned about building muscle.

Which would you say is better to take to gain weight and build muscle and just for your overall health: protein capsules or protein drinks? What are the side effects of both? which would be safer to take?

I am not familiar with the protein capsules, but if your diet is low in protein, the powders can be a good choice. Some people experience gastro-intestinal distress because of the powders, especially if they are lactose intolerant and are using a whey or casein based protein.
