QuestionHi. I need to know the best time to eat fruit. I have heard so many opinions, but I need to hear it from a dietitian. Is it better to eat it on an empty stomach? Is it better to eat it with meals? Does it matter at all? Thanks, Marie

Yours is not the first question I've had like this! I am so glad you are looking to a registered dietitian for the right answer :)
It does not matter when you eat fruit, or what you eat it with. It does not have to be on an empty stomach or in combination with any other foods. The presence of other foods will not affect the digestion or absorption of fruit, or of the other food.
You can eat it early in the morning, late at night, or any time in between!
The human digestive system can break down any food you feed it in any combination at any time of day. I know there are diet books out there that try to explain why you can't mix certain foods, or eat others after noon--but it's just hogwash!
Enjoy the fruits you like whenever you like them :)
