Questionhi again, i ask you a question on fruit a few days ago, and your reply was very interesting, today i bought some Kiwi fruit from my local store, and they are very good.
my question is
Q 1-- is there an amount of fruit thats to much to eat in one day ???
i do eat veg, as well as other food, but these kiwi are so good and very cheap, @ 6 for 49p
Q 2 -- would 6 or ??? be to much to eat in one day
i also eat 1 banana each day, and sometimes other fruit,
if my income would allow me i could eat much more fruit, hence my Question how much is to much in 1 day ????
hope you understand both my questions.
many thanks once again carol
AnswerDear Carol,
I'm so glad you found some fresh and healthy fruit that's affordable and that you like!
The question about "how much is too much" comes up often. There are a few reasons you can eat "too much" fruit:
1. If it makes you uncomfortable because of the high amount of fiber (intestinal bloating or diarrhea would be symptoms)
2. If you end up taking in excessive calories from, say more than 5 or 6 servings of fruit or juice, or
3. If you start eating fruit to the exclusion of other foods and end up depriving your diet of protein or calcium, for instance, because you eat so much fruit you don't have room for eating other nutritious foods.
The recommendations are for 9-12 servings a day of fruits and vegetables, so it's quite difficult to get more than this in for most people!
