QuestionI'm 13 years old and I do sometimes get picked on by this girl at school. I loathe her, and she usually makes fun of my weight. I don't know why because she's about the same size as me. But because of that, I became very self-conscious. Whenever I go anywhere I have to suck in my stomach. I just want to know how to lose weight without surgery or pills. And I am a very fussy eater, I only eat chips, cheese and tomato pizza, Yorkshire puddings, fish fingers and chicken burgers. I know I need to change my diet in order to lose weight, but I can't. I see something like sweetcorn and I say I'll try it, but I can't! And I do stuff my face a lot, but that's because there's nothing to do. The house is always tidy and my friends are always busy doing something or they're on holiday, or some other excuse. I can't afford to go anywhere with my family, too, so I'm always bored. And I'm lazy, I'm usually just in bed all day watching TV or on my laptop. I can't change it, I've tried loads of times, but the pounds keep piling on! Can you please help me lose weight and change my diet and exercise? Thank you :) ~x~
AnswerDear Shannon, I can't make you do anything you don't want to do. You confess to eating poorly and being lazy. That is your choice. The will to change and the will to motivate has to come from within yourself. Get out a journal, write down your goals for the new year and write down how you will achieve those goals. Everyday when you wake up ask yourself what will I be doing today to help reach those goals---then do it. Walk daily, eat smaller meals and eat more whole fruits and vegetables. Small steps at your age will really lead to big changes, so just start doing it and try not to make excuses. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
