QuestionI have been reading about B vitamins, they are supposedly helpfull for weight loss.
I also seem to have some symptoms of B vitamin deficiency, even though I eat foods containing them. This could be tied to my gluten intolerance and my inability to process b vitamins.
Would supplementing with a B complex be helpfull? I already take a multi vitamin.
thanks!
AnswerHi,
The vitamin B-complex refers to thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), pyridoxine (vitamin B6), biotin, folic acid and the cobalamins (vitamin B12).
Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and biotin participate in different aspects of energy production, vitamin B6 is essential for amino acid metabolism, and vitamin B12 and folic acid facilitate steps required for cell division. Each of these vitamins has many additional functions...
So a Vitamin in B complex should be ok, and most Vitamin tablets have the entire B complex in them as well, so you only need one tablet a day.
Thanks
