Healthy eating and loss of weight?

Question
Hello Tasha, My name is Anthony and i come from Greece. Although i cannot be characterized as an overweight or fat child, especially the last two years i have gradually gained some weight that causes me  sort of psychological problem, as i don't really enjoy my physical appearance. In addition to this, i would like to earn to adopt a new style of eating , more healthy for me, but i dont know in detail which things i have to avoid and which to include in my daily diet. What is more, i 'd like very much to loose about 3 kgs until the summer (June) but without becoming a gym freak - in other words with healthy and not harmful diet or way of eating more generally. What can i do in order to achieve this last goal? Should i add eating fruits daily and if yes how much and what foods to cut off, reduce  or increase. Overall, any piece of advice concerning the type of eating that a teen of 17 years old , tall 1.81 and with 85 kilograms weight , would be really really useful. I am sorry if the vocabulary i use seems quite strange or if it is not correct, however i can fully understand English the problem comes only when i have to express my self, so feel free to write as if to an native speaker of the language. Any hints and tips are welcomed. Thank you in advance, Anthony

Answer
Thank you for contacting allexeperts.com. I hope that I can assist you with your question.

First of all, Anthony, I would like to compliment you on your command of the English language.  I am very impressed by your ability to speak English so well when it is not your native language.  I can tell you that there are many native-born English speakers who do not express themselves as well as you do.  Especially, considering the factor that you are only 17 years of age.

Being in Greece, you have a wonderful advantage.  The food there is traditionally very healthy and nutritious.  Many Americans are adopting a Mediterranean style diet to benefit from it.  This does not mean that there are not some negative factors involved, but certainly a "traditional" Grecian diet is a good, healthy one.

The secret to maintain health is to avoid processed foods and try to incorporate as much unprocessed, whole, natural, raw foods as possible.  Ideally, your diet should be a minimum 75 percent raw.  For many thousands of years, throughout history and before, humanity had no alternative but to consume fruits and vegetables, grains and nuts that were whole, raw and unprocessed.  It was not until relatively modern times that cooking food became an every day event.  Unfortunately, our bodies have not fully adapted to eating this kind of food.  Cooked food is very IRRITATING to the mucus membranes that surround our organs.  When cooked food comes into contact with out stomach and intestines, our body produces a thick layer of mucus to protect delicate tissues from damage.  This thick layer of mucus not only inhibits absorption of nutrients, but it can harbor bacteria and viruses.

Also processed foods have been stripped of many of their nutrients.  it has been shown in laboratories that rats and mice who are fed a "modern" processed diet acquire many illnesses such a diabetes, cancer, etc., and eventually die.  This should be a lesson for all mankind.  Eating processed food is harmful.

You will find that the more raw, natural (preferably organic) food that you incorporate into your diet, the better you feel.  I strongly encourage you to read my blog at http://everydayhealthandwellness.blogspot.com where I discuss many of these concepts.  Eating living food is the only way to maintain the vital energy that our body uses to repair any damage.  Not only will eating unprocessed, whole, natural foods make you feel much better, but you will naturally lose weight.  Most of the overweight conditions that are present today are caused as a result of eating processed foods.  This topic is also covered in my blog extensively.

I encourage you to review the links on my blog which will open up a whole new world to you regarding how what you eat affects your health and wellness.  You are young and you have many years ahead of you. It is very wise that you are seeking the path to good health now so that you can live a long and vibrant life filled with much joy and fulfillment.

Remember always that your health is YOUR responsibility - no one elses.  You must strive to continue to learn all you can about how to maintain your good health by eating living, wholesome, natural foods.  Our society is becoming more sick every day because people do not know, and do not have the interest in learning this important information.  I salute your efforts to acquire the knowledge that will make you always well.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information or have any other questions.
