QuestionWhen making homemade things I don't know how to convert them to calorie count. If I make homemade soup and keep track of the total calories and total volume by ounces, if I total them up and divide the total calories by the total volume, do I measure in ounces by weight or ounces by volume? I. E., total calories 2000 total ounces 100, is that then 20 calories by scale weighed out or 20 ounces by measuring cup mark?
AnswerYou'll have to try to measure everything using the same units. If you measure your ingredients by WEIGHT then use weight. If you measure by FLUID OUNCES then calculate accordingly.
Remember, tracking calories doesn't have to be an EXACT science. Just use your best guesstimate.
