QuestionDear mr.Stevens,
I just started gymnastics. I'm 5 10' and weigh 149 lbs. My current bodyfat level is 11.1%. It was 12.4 last week. I managed to reduce the level with good diet (I did not starve myself. Actually I ate a heckofa lot)My question is- Is it possible or feasible to reduce my body fat level to 8 by late april?
I would appreciate any feedback.
The reason I want to achieve it is for increaed sports performance and it is a goal of mine.
AnswerIt's possible, but that's a short amount of time. I have found in my self and my athletes that all the % point past 10 need to come slower to preserve muscle and performance. Id rather see you give yourself about 6 weeks at your current BF% to get to the 8% and just aim to slowly lose a lb of fat a week and do all you can with Very short but heavy training to hold as much muscle as possible while doing so. 2-3 short 30-45 minutes resistance training sessions aimed at strength and low volume will aid you.
