QuestionHi there,
I am 23, weigh about 180lbs and I'm 5"10. What are some easy dieting tips. The food I eat mainly consist of frozen chicken patties, gummi bears, sometimes chips, grits, oatmeal, sandwiches with eggs, turkey bacon, and wheat bread. I want to start eating better but I have no idea where to start. Can you please recommend some alternatives to what I told you that I eat that I can buy that don't cost that much? I also would like to know some easy meals that I could prepare that will last the whole week? My mom buys the groceries and she doesn't eat right so it I am trying to find out what to buy so I can eat right myself?
AnswerI strongly recommend including more fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, grains. These should be whole, natural, unprocessed and preferably raw and organic.
It is vitally important that you include raw, living foods into your diet to attain optimum health. If you are interested in finding out more about this, please visit my blog at http://everydayhealthandwellness.blogspot.com
Under ideal circumstances, your diet should consist of 75 percent raw and 25 percent cooked foods. Even though unprocessed is generally more expensive, you will find that it is not necessary to eat as much to feel satisfied. This is because raw, unprocessed food contains significant amount of fiber which causes you to feel full. Processed foods have no fiber and people tend to feel hungry more often. This is one of the reasons that obesity is becoming a problem in this country. Eating processed foods causes us to overeat and consume more calories than is healthy.
There are many good resources for vegetarian, vegan and raw diets on the internet which can provide you with good tasting recipes. It is better to put the effort into eating well to maintain health than eating food that is not healthy.
Best of luck to you.
Tasha.
