QuestionPhil
I took my daughter to see the doctor.
She is listless, seems to be a bit depressed, and is getting heavy.
She doesnt eat much but gets hardly any exercise.
He said she needed to take vitamin B12.
Will this in fact help, especially in losing weight and getting more energy?
In this day and age when medicine is complicated and expensive, giving her a cheap OTC vitamin sounds to good to be true-but thats what he said.
Also, she gags on pills- is there another form she can take it in?
AnswerSusan-
if she is in fact low on B-12 for darn sure it will help, if she is not getting enough meat and and the like in her diet she could be low and low B12 can lead to an array of probs including those mentioned. Did he offer her a B12 shot if she got that it would show an immediate effect and one could tell if she was deficient. But other then that sure OTC B12 can be taken and Im sure someone has a liquid version if not they should have powder or she can crush or chew the tablet.
Id also not if she is not eating and or exercising at all that in itself is NOT a good thing and can lead to probs like you list. Even juts lack of food and fat intake.
