QuestionHi - recently I've been eating mostly nuts and fruit and vegetables - it really is all I'm craving. My concern is, I eat up to 4 "Kind" Bars a day (150-170 calories each)- they have like 11 grams of fat each, but are all nuts and all natural. I also typically have a 100 calorie pack of almonds. My average daily calories work out to about 1400-1700 depending on how much I work out... my concern is this - am I eating too much fat? I've lost a few pounds (I'm about 116-117 at 5'2", 22 years old, trying to get in shape to be a Maid of Honor in November), but I worry what I'm potentially doing to my arteries and heart... any advice??
Thank you!
AnswerDear Shannon,
The kind of fats you eat are good fats and since you limit carbohydrate intake (unless you eat a lot of fruits) your body most probably uses the fat metabolic pathway for fuel, including your body fat. Read about this at http://bantadiet.com right on the front page. There's a chart explaining what's going on on three different types of diets.
