QuestionHi I have a question regarding my 9-month old's diet and serving sizes.
He weaned himself off of breastfeeding recently and also refuses formula most of the time.
His pediatrician said that this is ok as long as he eats a variety of foods (he does).
My question is after 6-12 ounces of formula a day, what should his diet be like (no nuts or milk, cheese is fine)?
AnswerHi Jennifer,
Usually babies will eat as much as they like, and stop when they're full. So you don't have to figure out his serving sizes if he does a good job himself!
You said he eats a variety of foods and that's great. He might have some fruit and cereal for breakfast, some baby food meats for lunch and dinner with a side of vegetable and some table food like mashed potatoes.
Until the age of one year it's advised not to feed baby the white of eggs or whole milk (they are liable to have an allergic reaction to the protein). But cheese and yogurt are ok!
