QuestionI just ordered your program for my 11 year old son. He's 150 lbs, 4'10" and I'm desperate. He's been on a competitive swim team that trains 4 times a week for a year now, and he gained weight. He gets one soda on a Saturday. He doesn't drink juice, eat chips, fast food or any junk food. He does eat big meals, though. I'm really hoping that your program will help him, because his self esteem is low. I am concerned though, I haven't received the program yet, but the online menu shows a lot of baby carrots and popcorn. He doesn't like either, are there any other snack options?
AnswerHi Giselle, When you get the program you will see the portion sizes that he should eat. You can substitute any vegetable for any vegetable, any fruit for any fruit, any snack for any snack (as long as the snack has about 80-100 calories). Boys like to eat fast and eat big portions. Encourage him to slow down his eating and measure portions. Breakfast should be a bowl of cereal (measure portions), lunch can be any sandwich, dinner should always be a protein food with vegetables. During the day or at meal times he should have three servings milk, three whole fruits, 4 servings vegetables, and healthy fat like fats found in salad dressing. Hopefully he wants to lose weight. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
