QuestionI restrict my calories to 2,000 per day. I wake up around 6AM and go to sleep at 10PM. I eat breakfast first thing in the morning(500 - 1,000 calories), and usually use up my 2,000 calorie limit by 12PM.That means I don't eat anything for the last 10 hours that I am awake. Do you think that there is any detriment to eating in this manner?
AnswerHi,
I am not sure what your goals are to begin with. If it is for general health you will need to split up your calorie consumption to be more frequent and smaller quantities. Consuming 1000 calories at once and then not again for a long time is stressful for the body. Also eating say 250 calories every 4 hours is a better way to metabolize the food. Also your body will always have energy throughout the day. Try to have 5-7 small meals a day, throughout the day.
Thanks.
