QuestionLawrence
I find that my belly shrinks and I feel better when I stop eating bread. My doctor says I dont have celiac but might be a bit intolerant to carbs as I get gassy eating potatoes and rice but not pasta for some reason.
I cant start the day without at least one piece of toast. I cant eat white bread at all or most bread with flour.
What would you suggest?
Answer If you can't start your day with a slice of toast then maybe you should try gluten free bread or different types of bread to see which one gives you the best results. They have alternatives made from vegetables that might help you, but in the end it is your decision alone about how these foods make you feel and if the discomfort they give you is worth eating them.
I would suggest that you go to a allergist and get tested for food allergies, this is the only real way to know. Once you know that you can make an educated choice on what your next step could be. Lots of foods that contain yeast tend to make you feel bloated or can give you gas. This happens often especially if the yeast added to the bread may have been to much or the process the bread had gone through was not completed in a way where the yeast finished its job before it was baked off. Fresh bread is good for this problem.Older bread tends to not cause as much of a problem.
