QuestionMy 17 year old son is desperate to "bulk up" for football as his coach says he's
too small. I have gotten him supplements from Isogenix and Advocare however
he wants Tsunami Strike. The ingredients sound dangerous. Is it safe for him to
take? I have no idea how to interpret what's in the stuff. Thank you!!
AnswerI would not let your son have a thing supplement wise aside from a protein drink or weight gainer which is essentially just food. He just needs calories none of those others waste of time and money supps will do a thing for him if he is not gaining weight without them. The one and only thing on this planet that can make us gain weight is excess calories. Even if he went crazy and put him self on all kinds of illegal drugs (steroids) he would not gain anythign without eating More food.
That's the one and only thing he needs, train hard. then rest and eat and eat a ton. I have seen it time and time again. The hardest work he should be putting in is not his training its the battle with the fork and spoon.
The only thing I might let him take aside from food is what i have all my cleints take and they are not for gaining but for general health and longevity
Fish oils,
a mulit vitamin
and a teaspoon of creatine monohydrate a day
maybe extra calcium and magnesium but really if he is eating as much food as he needs he shouldn't need it
