QuestionHello, I am 27 years old, 5'9", 183-188 lbs, and size 10-14 pant size and lg-xlg top. I have always been a very active person, enjoying exercise and sports. I relocated almost 2 years ago and with out even realizing it was happening began gaining weight. So six months ago i began really watching what i was eating/counting calories and exercising again more often and harder (5-6times a week, sometimes twice a day) in efforts to lose weight. So ive been doing that for 6 months now, and have not lost anything much at all. I will lose some weight (2-3lbs), then gain it back a few days later. My clothes arent fitting any differently either. A month ago, i began this shake diet, where i have the shake for breakfast and lunch, with some snacks in between and then a reasonable dinner. All together through out the day im consuming 1,000 calories(this shake has all the nutrients i need in it too) so with my job where i am on my feet walking around quite a bit and my exercise i figure im burning atleast 3,000 calories. So that means im burning 2,000 more calories then i am consming.... so why cant i lose any weight? its soooo frustrating!!
AnswerThe answer to this question is simple. If you do not eat enough then your metabolism slows down to protect itself. When your metabolism slows down you can not lose weight very easily. You should try to eat 5 smaller meals spaced out throughout the day to keep your metabolism moving.
